    ACC Trophy

The ACC Trophy Elite division also starts on Friday, and I’ve written a preview for CricketEurope here. The UAE are obviously favourites for the title, but second place, and the other spot in the 2010 Asia Cup, could be any one of six teams.

Why,You are confident said UAE are obviously favourites for the title?
Why,Nepal are not favourites for the title? Now,Nepal are good form.Recently Nepal won the all six warm-up matches against Australian and Sri Lankan cricket club.
I believe Nepal are always fail to most importent stage of the game.It is unlucky for future of Nepali cricket. But this time will not show again.I am sure this team left the title.

Aghanistan, oman and UAE ..one of these three will win.
My guess is Afghanistan…they are the most hungry!

Nepal team batting is not good enough; although return of Kanishka Chughai there best batsman from USA may make a difference.

    Dr Gulkhan,

There are a lot of strange things happening in the division..

Prakash I missed the news of playing against the Australian clubs..can u enlighten me on that please..

This time I believe we wont choke..besides UAE has lost today and we beat HK..It wud be good to see AFG vs NEP final…I have a feeling UAE cricket has been dwindling since we beat them in the intercontinental..even at recent intercontinental UAE isnt doing much gd!

I have been reading caughtbehind blog for sometime now. And I think it is interesting that the volume of comments go up when there is a tournament with Nepal playing in it. Seems as though Nepal has a lot of devoted fans who want to make their voices heard. I don’t see a lot of people from other countries blogging. Keep on writing guys!

Noire - UAE did ok in the recent Asia Cup against Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. I think it’s more that other countries are improving than that cricket is dwindling there.

    Rich B,

Well said..I was rather focusing on the glass being half empty..also it was a bit to do with my ignorance as I did not really follow the Asia cup as I was on a holiday!

I wish we play them lot soon too..one of my wishes is to see Nepal play on the telly…against big guns…and hopefully even an upset. I hope this is the IT!! And hopefully no wars this time…Last time we qualified it actually took a war between India and Pakistan to stop us from playing them!!

    James,

Its true. Nepal is the only Non test country where you will get 10,000+ supporters when Nepal play at home at any level..senior or junior. We probably have the only fanclub webpage and a very dedicated homepage which is also developed by a fan. The fanclub’s main aim is to shadow the Cricket Association of Nepal. But Alas, neither the Association nor the fanclub have much sources!

Its not only on this forum, its similar on the fanclub too..people are tucked away, hidden until Nepal play any tournament!
