Another round of county championship matches started today, and associate players are again involved.
Kyle Coetzer could only manage two for Durham against Yorkshire, and from a painstaking 41 deliveries. Their innings was dominated by 184 from Michael Di Venuto, who’s brother Peter played for Italy six years ago.

Scotland upset Lancashire in close match
Scotland have beaten Lancashire by two runs in a close match at Old Trafford today, thanks to 3/26 from Dewald Nel. Ireland were also in Friends Provident Trophy action today, and they lost to Northamptonshire by 8 wickets. Paul Stirling scored 70, and Niall O’Brien scored 75, though that was for the opposition.

Ireland and Malaysia win in Under-15 tournament
The main tournament of the Under-15 International tournament in the West Indies started yesterday. Five associate teams are taking part in the eight team tournament - Ireland, Kenya, Malaysia, the Netherlands and a combined Americas team.

Hemp hits a century
Bermuda’s David Hemp has become the second associate player to score a first-class century in the ongoing English domestic season. The Glamorgan captain scored 104 against Oxford UCCE. Durham’s Kyle Coetzer, who rarely plays for Scotland due to Durham’s terrible release record, played against Durham UCCE, but only scored eight.

Ten Doeschate in the runs again
