Year in review: Part One
With the year drawing to a close, all cricket websites will be preparing their year in review articles. Beyond the Boundary is no exception, except we will be reviewing the year in non test cricket. We’re going to cover every associate and affiliate member of the ICC, with one batch a day until the final […]

Close series in Botswana
The Botswana leg of the MCC’s African tour has ended, and it’s been a close series. The opening Twenty20 game, played under lights on a turf wicket went the way of the MCC by seven wickets. The first one day match was won by the MCC by just one run, and Botswana came back in […]

MCC off to Hong Kong, China, Boatswana and Zambia
On September 25th, an MCC team will leave Lords for a 16-day tour of Hong Kong and China. While I doubt, they will actually play any major games in China, most of the effort will be put into organising training and coaching workshops, while they start their tour of Hong Kong with a game against […]

Tanzania have won the WCL Africa Division Two tournament after an eight wicket win over Botswana on the final day. Athumani Kakonzi took 5/23 to dismiss Botswana for just 97, and then completed a fine all-round performance with an unbeaten 42 as Tanzania cruised to the target in the 17th over.

The scorecard for day four are easily obtainable, but not for day three. If the games were rained off, the ICC could […]

Low scores on Day Two
Hot on the heels of my Day One report comes my Day Two report, thanks to CricketEurope, who are much better at getting scores from ICC tournaments than the ICC themselves.
It was a day of low scores. When 5/20 from Kandela helped Zambia bowl out Botswana for just 99, they must have given themselves a […]

Wins for Botswana and Tanzania on opening day
The latest stage of the African regional qualifiers for the World Cricket League (which goes by four different names on the ICCs website) got underway with wins for the hosts and for Botswana.
Botswana made 192, but it would have been less had it not been for an unbeaten 102 from Noor Ahmad. They then dismissed […]
