Myanmar
Year in review: Part Twelve
Our latest article takes us from Mali to Myanmar.
Mali
I say our article starts with Mali, but as Mali are yet to make their first appearance in international cricket, there isn’t really anything to say on them. Don’t worry, we do have something on some teams!
Malta
Really not a good start this, with Malta being absent […]

ACC Trophy format to change
In the midst of an article about the mauling of Myanmar by Nepal at the ACC Trophy, it is reported that the ACC Trophy will be split into a divisional format from the next edition.
There will be a 8 team Champions division and an 8 team Challenger division. The ACC has 19 non-test members (the […]

From the sublime to the ridiculous
Games at either end of the great/joke scale in the last lot of group stage games today. At the top end of the scale was the Hong Kong v Kuwait game which finished in a tie. Kuwait progress to the quarter finals on run rate. Next was the game between Bahrain and the Maldives to […]

An embarassment to cricket
The last day of the group stage of the ACC Trophy has seen the biggest mismatch of them all, Myanmar v Nepal. The game showed just why a preliminary round, qualifying tournament or multi-division format is needed.

ACC Trophy Day Six
A welcome change at the ACC Trophy today with no ridiculously high scores, and even a very competive game. That game was the match between Bahrain and last years runner up Oman, which Bahrain won by 19 runs in a very close game that means Oman will be relying on the Maldives to beat Bahrain […]

Mixed bag at the ACC Trophy
There was one ridiculous mis-match in today’s matches, with Hong Kong scoring 442/2 against Myanmar, then bowling them out for just 20. Qatar beat Thailand by 7 wickets, but the other two matches were quite welcome.
Singapore beat the 2004 finalists Oman by 77 runs, and the tournament suprise team Saudi Arabia scored 298 against defending […]

Another day, another set of mis-matches
The series of mis-matches at the 2006 ACC Trophy has continued today, including a remarkable run chase by Kuwait.
Afghanistan beat Iran after chasing their target of 90 in 9 overs. This was nothing compared to Kuwait who chased down their target of 134 down in 10 overs against Myanmar. One wonders what demoltion would have […]

ACC Trophy: Honors at Stake
The second-string nations of Asia would look for the ultimate prize of qualifying for the Asia Cup when the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Trophy 2006 begins next week in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Except for UAE and Oman, it’s also a chance for others to pave the way to the qualification to the 2011 World Cup. […]
