    Ireland on the brink

Ireland are on the brink of their third consecutive Intercontinental Cup title after a day in which the match tipped decidedly in their favour.

Resuming overnight on 14/2, Namibia struggled throughout their second innings, with only Jan-Berrie Burger (34) and Gerrie Snyman (31) getting a start as they were bowled out for 145. Peter Connell took 4/36 to add to his 5/54 from the first innings, and was the pick of the Irish bowlers.

Ireland started their chase quickly, reaching 68 in the 15th over before William Porterfield was first out for 34. Niall O’Brien stayed in to reach 77 as Ireland reached 134/1 at the close. Alex Cusack is the other not out batsman, and he will resume on 19 tomorrow morning with Ireland needing 67 more runs to lift the trophy.
