Ireland upset Warwickshire
The second upset of the Friends Provident Trophy campaign took place today in Belfast as Ireland beat Warwickshire by 4 wickets. They restricted the Bears to 211/7 from their 50 overs, and skipper William Porterfield scored 69 to help lead them to the target in the 47th over.
As is often the case this year, other associate players have been in action for their county sides today. Ryan ten Doeschate bowled six wicketless overs for Essex against Kent and scored 14. The match is still going on at the time of writing, but Kent look to be cruising to a win.
Scotland’s Kyle Coetzer did improve on his first innings two for Durham against Yorkshire, but not by much as he was out for 14. Durham still did win the match by 195 runs however.
