Second century for Klokker
Denmark’s Freddie Klokker has made his second first-class century in Derbyshire’s County Championship match against Warwickshire. Derbyshire skipper Rikki Clarke held off the declaration long enough for Klokker to reach 103, at which point he declared. The match ended in a draw, leaving Klokker with an impressive first-class batting average of 55.66 from his five matches so far. One problem now could be that he now won’t be released for Denmark for the European Championship later this summer after surely cementing his place in the team.
Meanwhile at the County Ground in Northampton, Irish wicket-keeper Niall O’Brien scored 95 opening the batting for Northamptonshire in their Friends Provident Trophy match against Leicestershire. It wasn’t enough to secure the win though, as HD Ackerman’s 139 helped Leicestershire secure a seven run win.

Would be nice if Klokker was released for Denmark. Always thought his name was appropriate - “klokking” up the runs.
