The more things change…
So, after a change in format and some surprise results, we’re left with the exact same semi-finals for the ACC Trophy as the 2006 tournament! Nepal will play the UAE and Afghanistan will play Hong Kong.
Afghanistan reached the semis with a close seven run win over Bahrain, whilst Hong Kong recovered from a terrible start to beat Singapore by 93 runs. Malaysia mauled Saudi Arabia by 193 runs, whilst Nepal beat Kuwait by seven wickets.
As ever, my full report on the days action can be found at CricketEurope, here.

would be nice if the lineup for the final was the exact opposite.. nepal and afghanistan to compete for the trophy while uae and hong kong fight for third place.
i think id like that very much.

After what we’ve seen in the last week WCL 4 looks like being really open. With HK and Italy doing better than I expected and Tanzania having home advantage I wouldn’t like to say now who are the favourites to get promoted.
